What a blessing from God in having David become a part of our lives. He has already been a source of light and joy for so many. Words cannot express how truly grateful we are. Congratulations to his parents.

Have you ever noticed that when you start a home fixit project that Murphy's Law always goes into effect. For example we decided to install new kitchen cabinets. At Home Depot they asked, "How old is the flooring?" I told them it was original equipment in our 30 year old home. "Oh, you'll need to install new flooring." Then we described the kitchen, measurements and all. Well, most people are taking out the soffit and putting in floor to ceiling cabinets. MORE work!!! Finally after a couple of sessions of picking out cabinets, drawing up blueprints, have more measurements we were ready for action. We ordered the cabinets that arrived in 2 weeks (kind of) and were on the quick pace to have them finished by October.

Well, so why weren't they?

Because...because the cabinet people kept sending the wrong equipment...one 3" shelf delayed the whole project. Finally we go the 3" shelf installed 12 Oct and the countertop was to be installed that afternoon. What joy to have the sink back in the kitchen--no more washing dishes in the bathtub (knifes are dangerous when you bathe.)

Anyway you are wondering about the finished product? It isn't. They cut the sink hole wrong. Thursday, 16 October is the new finish date. Don't put the money down so far nothing has gone as planned, except to accept the unexceptable!

Paul and I also had quite a discussion about the tile we put down. I told him to extend it just past the cabinets, but oh, no. He want it to end just before. Well, we ended up about three inches short and it looked dorky, but Paul did eat a little crow and fixed it.

When the soffits came down so did a lot of insullation. My asmatha kicked right in and I had to get treated for that. We told our Bishop we had just spent two weeks on our knees. "Oh, that's great," he exclaimed. Then we added on how we finally finished tileing.
